A Typical Day
CAMP WALDEN – A DAY IN THE LIFE…
As a parent, do you ever find yourself wondering what your child is doing at a given moment while s/he is at camp? Of course, each day at Walden is unique and filled with fun, but there are certain elements of every day that you can count on to be consistent. When scheduling specialties for each cabin, we do our best to strike a balance between land vs. water, sports vs. arts, and competitive vs. cooperative. Furthermore, each unit has instructional swim once per day.
Here is what a typical day at Walden looks like:
Wake Up – Each day starts by waking up to music!
BREAKFAST – No time to get dressed? Not to worry, pajamas are a-ok!
Cabin Clean-Up – NOW it’s time to get dressed
Periods 1 & 2 – Scheduled activities together with your cabin
LUNCH
Rest Hour
Periods 3 & 4 – More fun with the cabin
Period 5 – So many options… Unless you are a Colour, in which case you are showering every other day
Siesta – A great time to take a shower and get cleaned up for dinner
DINNER
Staggered Unit Evening Programs
Staggered Evening Snack (by unit)
Staggered Bedtime & Lights Out
Staff Curfew*
*Just like at home, where the adults stay up later than the kids but still have a designated bedtime, our staff have a set curfew each night. This allows them some time to relax and socialize with friends; however, each night there are staff members that are designated as “on duty” in each unit and are available to assist campers if the need arises.
