Preparing for the First Sing Song
Walden is a camp with a rich tradition of folk music; singing and camp have gone hand-in-hand since Walden opened in the summer of 1970. At its best, group singing represents the unity, spirit, fun, friendship, and just plain feeling good that the “sing-song” experience gives to so many campers.
Sing songs are a regular part of the Walden summer experience. Every year on the first night of camp, the whole camp gathers in Omni for an old fashioned sing-song. Camp’s Director, Sol, and long-time camper and staff member, Steven Pulver, lead us all in a variety of traditional camp favourites.
