Health and Safety

HEALTH CARE AT CAMP

Health and safety top our list of priorities at camp. It is our belief that our on-site Health Centre known as MASH, operated by our team of professional Nurses and the Camp Doctor is the best way to ensure the well-being of our campers and staff. Our MASH Staff stay fully informed about health issues. Not only are our MASH Staff well informed, but prior to and throughout the summer, they make certain that they communicate with parents when there is a need. We are pleased to have 911 services available to us and two nearby hospitals within a 30 minute drive from camp.

ORAL CARE AT CAMP

There is no dentist or orthodontist on staff at camp. We do recognize that campers’ teeth or braces require attention from time to time, and we are prepared to address these situations as they arise. While there are no orthodontists in nearby towns, Camp Walden has a long-standing relationship with Dr. Brian Bishop’s office in Bancroft. Dr. Bishop is a general practice dentist, and is well equipped to deal with various dental or basic orthodontic issues. In any event, should your child require any attention to their teeth (or mouth), you will receive a phone call from MASH about the most appropriate course of action.  Dr. Bishop will invoice families directly after the appointment.
